When I was 30 weeks pregnant, my doc said I could increase my activity to 1000 steps per day! This was huge considering I was walking about 300 steps a day at that time.
My dad was with me that night and he documented my first walk out of my room on my own accord.
Here we go!
Outside my room – 226! (I ended up living in that room for 74 days when it was all over.)
Nurse Toni and I. I made it all the way to the nurses station! First time ever!
When I learned where the Nutrition Room was and I could get my own water for the first time.
It really is about the simple things. Walking 1000 steps in normal life is pathetic, but at that point it was the most exciting thing ever!
The next morning Dark showed us his/her face. Check out my cutie.
From then on out, I was allowed to walk 1000 steps each day. It did not seem to increase my contractions. Everyday I would get up and take my walk. I would take it with Doug or whoever was on “Lizzie Duty” at that time. Eventually, I was confident enough to do it on my own.
This entire pregnancy has given me such perspective. I have learned so much about myself.
Love and Hugs, Lizzie
