RSVP Draft Scoring

I am getting a lot of questions about how the RSVP draft is scored so I thought I would unravel the mystery.

First of all, Doug and I drafted our teams over a year ago. Before we did anything wedding related, we made the invite list (which I strongly recommend to anyone getting married. It sets the numbers and tone of the whole wedding).

This is how we decided to score:
We counted the days left until the wedding. We mailed them on March 6 = 60 days before the wedding. Returned RSVP are worth the amount of points that equals how many days are left until the wedding.

For example:
If the RSVP arrived on March 7 (59 days away from the wedding) it was worth 59 points.
As time goes on, the RSVP’s are worth less and less.

Tomorrow is March 13 (which is 53 days from the wedding) = 53 points per RSVP. Get it?

Here is the breakdown so far:

Date

March 8

March 9

The current score (including today) is:
Lizzie 1906 vs Doug 1518!

As you can see, March 9 was very good to me, but you can also see that 8 or 9 RSVP's make the difference here. It is still up to those invited to make or break the competition!

You nerds our there might also be doing some math and wondering why the total points do not exactly equal the breakdown of points per day. We are also giving style points if someone’s team goes above and beyond.

For example, FedEx Overnighting (SCOTT!) earned Doug an extra point. The first hand delivered (COURTNEY) earned Doug an extra point. Clearly, my team rocks says my score, but Doug’s is out styling me. :)

We will display the RSVP teams at the wedding reception and officially announce the winner in front of everyone!

Come on people, get those RSVPs in….unless you are on Doug’s team :).

Love and Hugs, Lizzie
